Quick, clean and classy card with Stampin’ Up! Floral Framelits

I’m showing you my May thank you card eight
days early because I want to see this card and have a chance to get the 2012-2014 In
Color Paper Stack and ribbon before they sell out like the card stock did. Theme music.
Theme music. Theme music. Theme Music. Theme music. Okay, so, we know that the card stock
and ink pad colors of the 2012-2014 In Colors are retiring. But going with them will also
be the beautiful Stitched Satin Ribbon in the same colors, as well as, the In Color
Designer Series Paper Stack. We are going to use all four of those for my May thank
you card. Welcome to Stamping Smiles dot com. I’m Shelly Godby, the owner and CEO of Stamping
Smiles. For 13 years I’ve been teaching others how to create their own hand-stamped smiles.
We’re going to die-cut with the Floral Frames Framelits for my May thank you card. And,
I just wanted to give something a try, and it worked out, so I want to show you. I have
my Sizzix Big Shot, my Magnetic Platform, this is a separate purchase, but worth every
penny. But, if you don’t have one, you can use the Multipurpose Platform. We need a Cutting
Pad and . . . Here’s what I did. Because I was making a lot of them, I put down two sheets
of cardstock. I thought I wonder if it will cut through. I wasn’t terribly concerned that
I would really hurt the die because the paper is not that thick, I wasn’t trying to go through
chipboard or anything. I thought it was a try. I was willing to sacrifice a half sheet
of Whisper White Cardstock. And, put this on and fed it through. And, look. Ah, it just
came out of there so easily. So, I just cut down my die-cutting time in half for these.
Because I wasn’t needing a bunch of Whisper White die-cut flowers yet, I decided to use
them for my greeting. And, I’m going to stamp on this Sending Many Thanks from the Petite
Pairs Stamp Set with Midnight Muse Classic Stampin’ Pad ink. And, so we have this out,
then we’re going to die-cut it with the smallest of the Floral Frames Framelits. So, out of
this,I can get two. So I will still have a lot of Whisper White flowers left over. This beautiful lacy border, well, I die-cut
that also in my Big Shot using the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies. And, you know, because
my experiment went so well die-cutting two of the Floral Framelits on the Whisper White,
I thought “Let’s try the Edgelits and see what happens.” It did die-cut through both
but not quite as cleanly as I would’ve liked. I was able to use my Paper-Piercing Tool to
push out all the hanging chads. But, I really do believe it would’ve been quicker to die-cut
each of them separately than poke all of the those out. And, so I also told you about the
In Color Stack that is going to be retiring. And, you get these four patterns in there.
And, what I did was, I have a piece of the Midnight Muse in the polka dots on my Midnight
Muse Cardstock. And then, this with Stampin’ Dimensionals will go right over top. Isn’t
that pretty? Oh, but do you remember our Sending Many Thanks that we die-cut? Oh, in the center,
isn’t that pretty? So what we have going on here is a monochromatic card. Mono meaning
one color. We have one color cardstock, one color ink and one color for our Designer Series
Paper. Not including our neutral color. But, I told you I was also going to use all four.
So, where’s my Stitched Sating Ribbon? Well, here it is! Here is my Midnight Muse
Stitched Satin Ribbon. Wasn’t this a beautiful finishing touch? So, how’s a girl to decide
which one of the In Colors to use for her May thank you cards? Well, I couldn’t choose.
So, I also made this card in Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green and Summer
Starfruit. So, when you place your May Stampin’ Up! order with me in my online store www.shopwithshelly.com,
one of these cards are going to show up in your mailbox with my gratitude. So, just go
