How To Easy Crochet shell stitch Baby Headband Bag-O-Day Crochet TUTORIAL #55

Today we are going to make this Quick and Easy Crochet Baby Headband. This one is Newborn Size You can make it any size you want to. For this project you will need a Size F 3.75mm Crochet Hook. I am using Caron Simply Soft 4 ply yarn. Start with a Slip Knot. Chain in multiples of 5. So use a number of stitches in the chain that is a multiple of 5. Depending on head size After you have your Desired Chain Length (multiple of 5) I did a Chain 50 for Newborn to Size 3mnths. Add 1 more Single Crochet for the Turn Chain. Then 1 Single Crochet in the second stitch from the Hook Skip 2 stitches. Next stitch do 5 Double Crochets into the same stitch Skip 2 stitches. Next stitch do 1 Single Crochet. Skip 2 stitches. Next stitch do 5 Double Crochets into same stitch. Skip 2 stitches. Next stitch do 1 Single Crochet. Skip 2 Stitches. Next stitch do 5 Double Crochets into same stitch. Skip 2 Stitches. Next stitch do 1 Single Crochet. Skip 2 stitches. Next stitch do 5 Double Crochets into same stitch. Repeat the Skip 2, 5DC, skip 2, 1SC pattern until you get to the end of the row. The 2 ends will be attached and we will put a flower on it so if you have an extra stitch Dont worry it will be covered up. Turn your work. 1 Single Crochet in first stitch. Skip 2. In the center of the circle do 5 Double Crochets. You are matching the stitches you did on the previous row. Continue this same pattern until the end of the row When you get to the end of the row, 1 Single crochet into the first Single Crochet that you did to end the row. Leave a tail Use a yarn needle to sew it together. You only need a couple of stitches. A flower will also go here so there will be more stitches holding it together. Hide the tails. Now Lets make the Flower. Using the same kind of yarn for flower. Same needle 3.75mm. Start with a slip knot. Do a Chain 4. Slip stitch back into the first stitch to form a ring. Chain 1. 1 Single Crochet through the center of the ring. Chain 2. 1 Single Crochet through the center of the ring. Chain 2. 1 Single Crochet through the center of the ring. Chain 2. 1 Single Crochet through the center of the ring. Chain 2. 1 Single Crochet through the center of the ring. Chain 2. 1 Single Crochet through the center of the ring. Chain 2. You should have 6 chain 2 Spaces. When you get 6 Chain 2 spaces Slip stitch back into that first Chain 1 space you made in the beginning That will close that round out For the petals. Chain 1. Do 1 Single Crochet in the first Chain 2 Space. Then Do 2 Double Crochets into the same Chain 2 Space. Then Do 1 single Crochet in the same Chain 2 space. In the Next Chain 2 Space do a Single Crochet. Then 2 Double Crochets in the same Chain 2 Space. Then 1 Single Crochet into the same space. In the next Chain 2 space do 1 Single Crochet. 2 Double Crochets. Then 1 Single Crochet in the same Chain 2 space. Repeat this all the way around. When you finish the round Slip stitch into the first Single Crochet on the first petal. Then Chain 3. Carry the Chain 3 over to the first single crochet on the second petal. Slip Stitch. Then Chain 3 again. Carry it over to the first single crochet on the next petal. Slip Stitch. Chain 3. Carry it to the first single crochet on the next petal. Slip stitch. Repeat all the way around until last Chain 3. When you get back around push the Chains to the back and the petals to the front. Slip stitch last Chain 3 into The first Chain 3 space we did. Chain 1. In first Chain 3 space do 1 Single Crochet. 4 Double Crochets. 1. Single Crochet in same stitch. Do same thing in each Chain 3 Space. 1SC. 4DC.1SC. until you get all the way around. When you complete the round Slip Stitch into the beginning stitch. Tie off. Leave a long tail to sew it on with. If you did not hide it while you made it go ahead and sew in the tail on the back. Use a yarn needle to sew the Crochet flower on to the Crochet Headband. You can weave the tail toward the center of the flower so you can sew it from the center. Sew the Crochet flower onto the Crochet headband in the spot where you joined the Baby Headband. Thank you for watching. 1. You are a brilliant tutor. somebody who never did crochet would have no trouble following your instruction. video quality good too. keep up the good work. I'm a lifelong crocheter,I love the shell headband. I'm already making it.

  2. I have just started crocheting again after many years..I just made this for my granddaughter as well as a dress from your channel.Thank you for making me fall in love with crocheting again..

  3. I like the softness of Caron Simply soft but the yarn is so splitry and hard for me to work with. Do you have this problem? I heard that the boyd hook might be my problem? Is Susan Bates hooks better?

  4. I can't wait to get some yarn & make some of these headband for my twin granddaughters due in just a few months! These are beautiful! Thanks for the video!

  5. I wish I can show you pictures of the results, thank you for the guidance of your tutorial, I hade to do it over because I ended up with 7 but then I figured out what I was doing wrong. One stitch in the wrong hole, I thank you again…

  6. I am new and would love to try to make this for a friend but what would I do differently if I needed this for a 7 month old?

  7. I'm thankful for you for showing me this adorable how to. I've got a new granddaughter coming in May and am gearing up to crochet some pretties for her.

  8. I used your pattern for straps on a tank top. It's almost finished, except for the straps. I'll make another one, using a lighter weight yarn…this one is worsted, and somewhat "thick." I hope age thins it out a bit. But your pattern will look great with it, and I found it very easy to follow. I did a chain of 71, and also had that little tail.

  9. Thank you crystal. You sure a great teacher. One thing I like is you take your time and explain every thing. I just my first sweeter and my head band thanks again. Keep up the good work.

  10. Im just starting to learn and have been trying to follow some beginner tutorials but literally couldnt get past making the chain -_- tried following picture tutorials and nope.. Then saw this and it looked simple enough to try to follow and just copy what you do inatead of trying to learn all these squares and corners and stuff first. And I made the freaking headband! I cant believe it! Im thrilled and now know to just follow along instead of learning individual stitches first. I guess Im backwards lol.. Thank you for a great tutorial and I cant wait to follow along on some others!

  11. Thank you for sharing your video. Last night I crocheted your shell stitch baby headband. My question is, how can I continue the project to add more layers? Thank you for answering me.
